According to Wix.com, Blogs are websites that are frequently updated about a certain topic. Every blog is unique in its own way and what the author wishes to accomplish is different depending on the audience. Blogs can range from being casual, professional, or a mix of both. Blogs are a great way to connect to people with similar interests and learn new information. The blogs I personally explored are, A Beautiful Mess and Hollywood Life, these blogs contain different aesthetics, tones, and purposes.
To begin, I want to praise the blog, A Beautiful Mess! Founded by sisters, Elise Larson and Emma Chapman, the motto of their website is; "Stay Home and Make Something." ABM is a website full of DIY crafts, recipes, styles, and more! By clicking on ABM, it immediately greets you with pleasing soft colors and their most recent posts. One of my favorite features about the website is how easy it is to navigate; furthermore, it's fun to explore the blog as its format is different with every page. The format is easy to understand and fun to click through! However, one of my complaints is how long the pages are. It can be too much information on a single page. Nevertheless, A Beautiful Mess is a well-crafted blog that is enjoyable to explore and easy to understand.
In contrast, I did not enjoy the blog, Hollywood Life, as it is a messy blog to understand. Firstly, the colors are consistent; pink, black, and white. The brightness of the pink catches the reader's attention quickly; however, becomes messy after scrolling down the page. In addition, the front page is overwhelming! There are tooooo many articles shouting at you to read them all while being in a cluttered format. Mixed with bolded words, bright pink colors, and a messy format, it's difficult to process the blog. Even so, it's easy to understand the purpose of Hollywood Life as the blog focuses on celebrities, current fashion trends, and gossip. For example, the blog uses informal wording in their titles for their articles to be relatable. These words include; "BFF", "Slay", and more.
